RECRUITMENT   OF FACULTY  POSITIONS


Indian  Institute  of  Food  Processing  Technology  (IIFPT)  is  a National  Academic  and Research Institute under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India, engaged in research and development in the areas of food processing and value addition. IIFPT offers B. Tech., M. Tech. and Ph.D programs in the area of Food Processing.

Applications  are  invited  from  bright,  dynamic  and  highly  motivated  candidates  with requisite eligibility criteria as furnished below for the following faculty positions at IIFPT, Thanjavur on direct recruitment basis.

I.  Professor:   OS (Food P.rocess' EngineeringlAgriculturaJ    .Erocess  Engineering)   (Out of five Posts: UR - 4, OBC -1) Pay Level: 14 as per VII CPC:

Essential  Qualifications:


I.    Doctoral Degree in Post-Harvest Technology, Food Technology/Food Engineering, Food Process Engineering, Agricultural Process Engineering or Agricultural Engineering / Chemical Engineering specialized in Food Processing.

ii.      10 years' experience in the relevant subject out of which atleast 8 years should be as
Scientist/Lecturer/Extension  Specialist or in an equivalent position in the pay band
3 of Rs.l5600-39100   with  Grade Pay  of Rs.5400/Rs.6000/Rs.7000/Rs.8000   and Research / Teaching / Extension Education provided 2years of experience should be as  anAssociate  Professor  in  the  Grade  Pay  of  Rs.9000  (pre-revised)  or  in  an equivalent position (Level 13 A of 7thCPC).
lll.    The  Candidate   should  have  made  contribution  to  research/teaching/extension education as evidenced by published work/innovations and impact.

Experience:

Certificate in support of experience should be in proper format i.e. it should be on the Organization's  letter head bearing the date of issue, specified period of work, pay scale and specified job description issued by the Competent Authority with name
and designation.
Age Limit for the post:
Not exceeding 52 years. There is no maximum age limit for the IIFPT employees. For candidates belonging to OBC category, 3 years age relaxation as per Govt. of India rules.
II.  Professor:  01 (Biochemistry)  (UR): Pay Level:14 as per VII CPC: Essential  Qualification:

i.  Doctoral Degree in Biochemistry specialized in Food Processing.

n.  10 years' experience in the relevant subject out of which atleast 8 years should be as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position in the pay    band       3      of      Rs.15600-39100       with       Grade      Pay       of Rs.5400/Rs.6000/Rs.7000/Rs.8000    and  Research  /  Teaching  /  Extension Education  provided  2 years experience is as an Associate  Professor  in  the Grade Pay of Rs.9000 (pre-revised) or in an equivalent position (Level 13 A of 7thCPC).

1Il.  The Candidate should have made contribution to research/teaching/extension education as evidenced by published work/innovations and impact.

Experience:

Certificate in support of experience should be in proper format i.e. it should be on the Organization's  letter head bearing the date of issue, specified period of work,  pay scale and specified job  description  issued by Competent Authority with name  and designation.

Age Limit for the post:

Not exceeding 52 yrs. There is no maximum age limit for the IIFPT employees.

III.  Associate professor:  01 (Food Process Engineering/Agricultural    Process Engineering) (EWS): Pay Level:13A  as per VII CPC:
Essential  Qualifications:
i.   Doctoral  Degree  in Post-Harvest  Technology,  Food  Technology  /  Food Engineering, Food Process Engineering, Agricultural Process Engineering or Agricultural Engineering / Chemical Engineering specialized in Food Processing.

ii. Doctoral degree in relevant engineering with 6 years' experience as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension  Specialist or in anequivalent position in the Pay Band-3    of    Rs.15600-39100    with    Grade    Pay    of    Rs.5400/Rs.6000/ Rs.7000/Rs.8000  (Level  101111120f7th CPC)  having  made  contribution  to research/teaching/extension    Education     as     evidenced     by     published
work/innovations  and impact
(or)
Master   Degree    in  relevant    Engineering     subject   with   10  year's    experience     as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension        Specialist    or  in  an  equivalent    position    in  the   Pay Band:3   of  Rs.15600-39100    with  Grade  Pay  of Rs.5400/Rs.6000/Rs.7000/Rs.8000 (Level    10111/12        of       7th      CPC)        having        made        contribution          to research/teaching/extension    education   as evidenced   by published   work/innovations and impact.

Experience:

Certificate   in support  of experience   should  be in proper  format  i.e. it should  be  on the Organization's    letter head bearing  the date of issue,  specified  period  of work,  pay scale  and  specified  job  description   issued  by  Competent   Authority   with  name  and designation.

Age Limit  for  the  post  of Associate   Professor:

Not exceeding   47yrs.  There  is no maximum   age limit  for the IIFPT  employees.

IV.    Assistant   Professor:01     (Food  Process   Engineering/Agricultural         Process   Engineering) (UR):  Pay  Level:  10 as per  VII  CPC:

Essential   Qualification
Master's    Degree   in  Post-Harvest    Technology,    Food   Engineering,    Food   Process Engineering,    Food  Technology,    Agricultural    Process   Engineering    or  Agricultural Engineering/   Chemical   Engineering   specialized   in Food  Processing.

V.    Assistant    Professor:01     (Agricultural      Entomology)     (EWS):   Pay  Level:10    as  per   VII CPC:
Essential   Qualification
Master's   Degree  in Agricultural   Entomology. Age Limit   for  the  post  of Assistant    Professors:
Not exceeding   32 years  and 35 years  in case of Ph.D  holders.  There  is no maximum age  limit for the IIFPT  employees. 


GENERAL    AND  IMPORTANT     INSTRUCTIONS      TO  APPLICANTS

1.   The  candidate  must  be a citizen  ofIndia.

2.   The  candidates   must  apply  through   online   in  the  application    form  available   in  the Institute   website   W\,,;'w.Hl"pl.eulI.inand required application fee of Rs.500/- has to  be paid    through  SBI  Collect  available  in the  Institute's  web-site:  w\\;'w.iifpLcdu.in. SC/ST/PwD and Women candidates are exempted from payment of Application  fee. The off-line application sent directly to the Institute will not be considered.

3.  The candidate must upload soft copies of all certificates and relevant documents  in support of their claim in the online application form wherever necessary. Candidates must upload the first page of all publications listed in online application, failing which such publications will not be considered for score calculation.  Hence, candidates  are advised to prepare the pdf files of each of the required documents before starting  the online application process.

4.   Candidates are advised to fill each and every column of the application form carefully.
Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected.

5.  The candidates those who are applying for more than one post should submit separate online application for each post.

6.  After successful submission of online application, the downloaded application should send to The  Director,   Indian  Institute   of Food  Processing   Technology  (IIFPT), Pudukkottai    Road,  Thanjvur    - 613 005, Tamil  Nadu  within  the  due  date.  The following documents need to be attached with the application form:
a.   The receipt of online application fee of Rs.500/- generated in SBI Collect.
b.   Self-attested copy of proof certificates of birth, academic qualification, experience, publications, awards, category (OBC/EWS/PWD), proof of special attainments  and all other claims in the application. The certificates and other documents should be in the prescribed format.

7.  All  communications,  in  respect  of  applications  for  recruitment  against  the  posts advertised by the IIFPT, should be addressed to The  Director,   Indian  Institute   of Food  Processing   Technology,  Pudukkottai    Road,  Thanjavur    - 613 005,  Tamil Nadu  and the following particulars has to be superscribed on the envelope:
a. Advertisement No                       and date                                . b. Name of the post applied for and discipline.
c. Address and phone number, email for correspondence as given in the application form. Communications without these particulars are liable to be ignored.

8. The last date for submission of online application for the above posts of Professor/Associate  Professor/Assistant  Professor in the Institute is 45 days from the date of publication of the above Employment Notification in "The Employment News". Followed by receipt of hard copy of the application in the Institute within (07) seven days  after closing  of online  portal  and  (15) fifteen  days  for candidates residing  in Assam,  Meghalaya,   Arunachal   Pradesh,   Mizoram,   Manipur,  Nagaland,   Tripura,
Sikkim,  Ladakh   Division  of Jammu  and  Kashmir   State,  Lahaul  and  Spiti  District   and Pangi  Sub-Division    of  Chamba   District   of  Himachal   Pradesh,   Andaman   &  Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

9.  Persons who are already in service (Government/Quasi  Government), permanent   or temporary  capacity  and who anticipates  delay in forwarding  his/her  application   by his/her parent office, must submit an advance copy of the application along with  the receipt  of  application  fee  directly  to  The   Director,    Indian   Institute    of  Food Processing   Technology  (IIFPT),  Pudukkottai    Road,  Thanjvur   - 613 005, Tamil Nadu,  so as to reach on or before the closing date. The applications received after  the closing date will not be considered. While sending the "Advance  Copy" of application (s) directly to the IIFPT by the closing date, the candidate should append a certificate in  his/her  advance  copy  of  application  indicating  clearly  therein  that  he/she  has intimated his/her parent office/controlling authority/employer of the same and has also simultaneously  submitted  original application  for the  said post(s) to his/her  parent office/controlling authority/employer with a request to forward the same through proper channel so as to reach IIFPT office positively on or before the closing date. The original application duly forwarded by the parent office must reach the IIFPT within  15days after the closing date.

10. The IIFPT will not be responsible for any delay/non-receipt of application(s) on time.

11. The  application(s)   forwarded  through  proper  channel  should  duly  filled  in   the
'Certificate  of Verification by the Employer',  verifying/authenticating  and indicating the following clearly.
(i) service particulars indicated in the application by the candidate; (ii) vigilance clearance Certificate

12. Valid Personal  email ID and mobile number  furnished  at the time of filling online application  should  be  kept  active  during  the  process  of  recruitment  for  further communications. The call letters to the shortlisted candidates for the interview will be sent by IIFPT through the registered email ID. Institute's  website (W\~'\v.iHbt.udu.in) may also be referred from time to time for any further instructions.

13. Candidates are required to bring hard copies of all publications along with hard copy of the application form at the time of interview.

14. Candidates  must  bring  all  original  Degree  Certificates,  Mark  Sheets,  Certificates relating  to  Age,  Category,  Experience,  etc.  at the  time  of  interview.  In case,  any candidate fails to submit the original certificates/documents  for verification, he/  she shall not be allowed to appear for the interview and his/her candidature shall be treated as cancelled without any further communication  in this regard.

15. The applicant must ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility conditions for the post. It is the responsibility  of the candidate to assess his/her eligibility for the post for which he/she  is applying  in accordance  with the  prescribed  qualification,  experience  etc. Submit application duly filled-in along with required information, documents and other supporting materials as per the advertisement
16. Candidates    with   requisite    qualifications    and  experience    acquired    from   recognized University/Institutions    need  only  apply.  Candidates   who  have  obtained   degrees  from any Institution  declared  as fake/derecognized    by the UGC/or  any other  Statutory  Bodies shall not be eligible  for being  considered   for recruitment   to the posts  advertised.

17. The  time  taken  by  candidates   to  acquire   M.Phil.   and  / or  Ph.D.  degree   shall  not   be considered    as  teaching/    research   experience   to  be  claimed   for  appointment    to   the teaching   positions.   Further   the  period   of  active   service   spent  on  pursuing   research degree  simultaneously   with teaching  assignment  without  taking  any kind of leave,  shall be counted  as teaching  experience   for the purpose  of direct  recruitment.

18. The  prescribed   essential   qualifications    are minimum   and  possessing   of same  does  not entitle   candidates   to  be  called   for  interview.   The  cut-off   date  for  determining    the eligibility   of all candidates   in every  respect  shall  be the  closing  date  as prescribed    in the advertisement   for receipt  of the applications.   The applicants/candidates     who qualify on  screening   of  applications    as  per  Score  Card   System   adopted   by  the  IIFPT   for assessing        relative   merit   of  candidates    on  the  basis   of  educational    qualifications, experience,   research  work,  publications,   awards  etc.  will  only  be called  for interview. Hence,  the candidates   are advised  to fill up the application   form  carefully  and each  and every   column   of  application    should   be  filled  up  accurately    because   marks   will   be awarded    on  the  basis   of  information    in  each   column   and   supporting    documents submitted  by the individual.

19. Matriculation/Secondary     School/Higher   Secondary  School  passing  certificate   issued  by the concerned   educational   board  will  be considered   as proof  of date  of birth.  No  other document  will be accepted   for verification   of date of birth.

20. Candidates    claiming   OBC   reservation    should   submit   appropriate    certificate    in  the prescribed   format  issued  recently  by the competent   authority  specifically   with reference to  Non-Creamy     Layer.   Those   who   fail   to   submit   the   OBC   Non-Creamy     Layer certificate  will be treated  as General  Category,  subject  to fulfillment   of other conditions and availability   of vacancies   in the respective   advertisement.

21. Candidates   belonging   to  SC/ST/OBC-NCLIEWS/PwD       category,   who  are  selected   on the  same  standard   as  applied   to  General   Category   candidates   and  who  appear  in  the general   merit  list  owing  to their  merit,  would  be treated   as General   candidates.   Such candidates   would  be adjusted  against  unreserved   point  of the reservation   roster.  In other words,  when  a relaxed  standard  is applied  in selecting  an SC/ST/OBC-NCLIEWS/PwD candidate   for example,   in the  age  limit,  marks  etc.  such  SC/ST/OBC-NCLIEWS/PwD candidates   shall be counted  against  reserved  vacancies   only and they  would  be deemed to be unavailable   for consideration    against  unreserved   vacancy.

22. The   appointment    against   EWS  category    shall  be  provisional    and  is  subject   to  the Income   and  Asset   Certificate    being   verified   through   the  proper   channels.      If  the verification   reveals  that  the  claim  of belonging   to EWS  is fake/false,   the  services  will be terminated   forthwith  without  assigning   any further  reasons  and without  prejudice   to
such  further  action  as may  be taken  under  the provisions   of the  Indian  Penal  Code  for production   of fake/false  certificate.

23. The  candidate,   who  is on  deputation/foreign     service  (i.e.  serving   in  ex-cadre   post), should   also  get  his/her   application    routed   through   proper   channel   by  forwarding through   the  office  in which  he/she  is on deputation/foreign     service   in addition  to  the same  being  got forwarded   by the competent   authority  of parent  organization.

24. As the posts are filled  on direct  recruitment,   the candidates  working  in the Central/State Governments/Universities/Central    Institutes  etc. should  resign  their  present job,  in case of his/her  selection  and before joining   the Institute.  No lien shall be allowed  to be kept in the parent  department.

25. No TAiDA will be paid to the candidates for attending interview.

26. Suppression of factual information, production of fake documents, providing false  or misleading information or any other undesirable action by the candidate shall lead to cancellation of his/her candidature. In case, it is detected at any point of time in future even after appointment that the candidate was not eligible as per the prescribed qualification, experience, etc. which could not be detected at the time of interview due to whatever circumstances, his/her appointment shall be liable for termination forthwith without any notice.

27. The decision of the IIFPT with regard to the eligibility or otherwise of any candidate based upon evaluation of the application and particulars/records  submitted with  the application by the candidate shall be final, and the IIFPT will not enter any correspondence in this regard with the unsuccessful candidates.

28. Short-listed applicants/candidates  alone will be called for the personal interview  and must appear for personal interview, as may be fixed by the IIFPT.

29. IIFPT will not correspond with the applicants/candidates those who are not shortlisted for the personal interview. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.

30. Any  changes/corrigendum/amendments/updation/cancellation    notice  related  to  the recruitment process shall be published on official website ofIIFPT  (www.iifpt.edu.in). Therefore, candidates are advised to check the Institute Website regularly.

31. The Institute reserves  the  right to  Revise  / Reschedule  / withdraw  the  recruitment process without assigning any reason. The decision of the Institute shall be final and no appeal in this regard shall be entertained.

32. The Institute reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without giving any reason.

33. Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) is an autonomous organization.
The service conditions will be regulated in accordance with the IIFPT rules amended from time to time.
34. The  Salary,  terms  and  conditions   of services  and  superannuation    will  be according    to the    IIFPT  norms  as amended  from  time  to time.

35. IIFPT  shall verify the character  and antecedents   submitted  by a candidate  at the time  of appointment.

36. The decision  of the Selection  Committee   shall be final.

37. The candidates  recommended   by the  Selection  Committee   will be offered  with  an offer of appointment   subject  to medical   fitness  on medical   examination   by the  Competent Medical  Authority  and other  satisfactory   requirements.  before  reporting  to join.

38. Selected   candidates   will  be  governed   by  either  Employees   Provident   Fund  or  New
Pension  Scheme  as amended  by the government   from  time to time.

39. Selected  candidates   have to execute  a bond to serve the Institute  for a minimum   period of 4 years  from the date of appointment.   Failure  to serve the Institute  for the  stipulated period  will render  the candidate   liable  to refund  to the Institute  a sum of 1,25,0001 -

40. The candidate selected will be on probation for two years, extendable up to three years by the Competent Authority, as per the Bye-law of the Institute. The selected candidate shall provide one month's notice or one month's pay and allowances for the termination of service within the time of completion of the period of probation and three months' pay and allowances in lieu thereof after the completion of period of probation.

41. The fixation of pay in a scale of pay of an employee whether on first appointment or on transfer from a post in one scale of pay to a post in another scale of pay shall be fixed in accordance  with  relevant  rules,  rules  governing  re-employment  of  Government officials and any other rules or orders for time being in force of the Govt. of India fixation of pay of a Government Servant.

42. The candidature of all candidates will be entirely provisional at all stages till appearance for Interview and shall not be entitled to raise any claim for appointment to the post.

43. In case any candidate found ineligible on any ground even after his/her appointment, hislher   service  will   be  terminated   immediately   without   assigning   any  reason thereof.
